We collect as little personal data as possible:

• Your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter or ask to be notified when tickets go on sale
• Name, email, and talk details, if you submit to the call for papers
• Name, email, and billing details, if you buy a ticket (card payments are processed by Stripe)
• Technical server logs (IP address, browser, time of access), kept by our hosting provider for security and operations

We use your data only to run the conference: sending you the updates you asked for, reviewing talk submissions, processing ticket orders, and keeping the website secure.

We do not sell your data. The only advertising use is the Google Ads measurement described under "Cookies and analytics", and only if you accept it.

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the conference, and only to the extent necessary:

• Website hosting and email: cyon GmbH, Brunngässlein 12, 4052 Basel, Switzerland
• Ticket shop: Cloudflare, Inc., United States, which runs the ticketing backend and holds the order and ticket database
• Payments: Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Dublin, Ireland
• Advertising: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and only once you have accepted the cookie banner
• Newsletter and notifications: run by us, over our own email hosting at cyon
• Call for papers: submissions reach us by email, over our own email hosting at cyon

The website, our email, the newsletter, and the call for papers run on Swiss hosting. The ticket shop, card payments, and Google Ads involve providers that may process data outside Switzerland and the EU, in particular in the United States, under the safeguards required by data protection law.

We advertise the conference through Google Ads, and its tag needs a cookie to tell whether an ad actually brought someone here. Nothing is stored until you accept the banner:

• Until you answer, the tag runs in denied mode: no cookies, no advertising identifiers, only an anonymous signal that a page was opened
• If you accept, Google sets a first-party cookie (_gcl_au) that lives for about 90 days and lets Google attribute your visit to an ad
• If you decline, nothing is stored and nothing further is sent

You can change your mind whenever you like: the Cookies link in the footer reopens the banner. We use no other analytics and set no other tracking cookies.

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. Newsletter and notification addresses are deleted when you unsubscribe.

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), and the GDPR where it applies, you can request access to your data, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent at any time.

We may update this policy as the conference setup evolves, for example when a ticketing or newsletter provider is chosen. The current version is always published here.
